Job Description
|
Reporting to the Fleet Manager, an Automotive & Equipment Mechanic performs maintenance and repair on the fleet of trucks, trailers, and equipment. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position and work is performed primarily in the shop and out in the field under varying temperatures and weather-related conditions. Typical shop hours are: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM but may vary. Technicians must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed to meet deadlines.

Req. Skills |
- Completing basic maintenance such as oil changes, brake checks, track changes, hydraulic hose repairs, etc
- Operates and maintains electric and/or air powered hand tools
- Running diagnostic tests on engines, including diesel engines, and interpreting the results to offer solutions.
- Inspecting systems including suspensions, steering, exhaust, etc.
- Test driving repaired vehicles to diagnose issues.
- Conducting field visits in case of emergency or sudden breakdown.
- Ability to source materials and resources to complete a repair/project.
- Welding skills and fabrication.
- Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and repair techniques to repair vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment.
- Technical degree in agricultural or construction mechanic/ or 4+ years in service/mechanical operations.
- Operates heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Works safely by following established safety procedures and through awareness helps to ensure the safety of others near and around the work area
- Completes repair work orders accurately and thoroughly, indicating work completed and any needed follow-up
- Communicates services and repairs performed in a professional manner
